This section explains how to create a virtual interface and the different options available.
Create Virtual Interface
Find below the detailed options available while creating a virtual interface.
Parent Interface. Set a NIC, Bonding or VLAN interface as the parent interface, the Virtual Interface will be configured over it.
Name. Set a name to identify the new Virtual Interface, the name starts with the name of the Parent Interface followed by the virtual interface name ID to be used, and they are separated with a colon character. The parent interface name plus 1 plus the name set must be lower than 16 as defined by the system.
IP Address. Set the network-layer IP address to the new virtual interface. Netmask and Gateway will be inherited from the parent interface. The address can only be in the same network as its parent. Support IPv4 or IPv6
Once all the required configuration is set, press the Create button to create the new virtual interface.
